Lacewood
Lacewood is from Australia. It's also known as
silky-oak. It is not an endangered wood. It
is a nice wood to work with, other than that sawn edges will give
you splinters. Very sharp tools are essential. Lacewood
dust is mildly toxic and can cause skin irritation in some people.
Lacewood's distinctive grain and color is
reminiscent of mahogany.
