Waterline 48 REDIf you're looking for electric spinning wheels, go to: http://www.hansencrafts.com We used to live and cruise on our sailboat RED, a Waterline 48. This portion of the site is about cruising topics and RED. We sold RED in 2006 and are now landlocked. After 30 years of sailboat ownership and 18 years of living aboard we were ready to move on. But, we certainly had some grand times on the water. Beth and I lived aboard RED from 1998 to June, 2006, and on our second major cruise we'd been cruising more-or-less full-time since 2000. As of January, 2006, we've logged a bit over 22,000 miles on RED, and have visited some pretty nifty places; stuff most people only dream about. About this siteI've tried to organize this site so it's easy to browse, but also easy to find specific topics. In most cases, you'll find that you can peruse an entire topic just by clicking the "Next" link. If you want to go to a specific point in a given topic, they're presented in the sidebar to the right. Major topics are presented at the top of the page. Occasionally, a link will take you away from the thread you've been following. Just hit the "Back" button on your browser to return to the spot you were at when you were interrupted, and continue your browsing with the "Next" link at the top of the page. UpdatesI'll periodically update this site with additional photos and more details about RED. Here's a link to a page describing the latest updates. PhotosVirtually every page has a nice photo, often but not always related to the text. Even if you're not interested in world cruising by sailboat, I hope you enjoy the pretty pictures. We took all of the photos except as noted. RED's construction photos were taken by the folks at Waterline Yachts. February, 2005: RED in beautiful Whangaroa Harbour, North Island, New Zealand. |
