Travels on AchatesWe purchased Achates, a Valiant 40, in 1983, and moved aboard (in Juneau, Alaska) shortly thereafter. We worked hard and saved our pennies, and departed on a three year cruise in 1989. We sold Achates in 1992 after 21,000 miles of traveling. Needless to say, we had a fabulous time. Note: There are 139 slides, so it may take awhile to wade through the entire series! This series of photos were scanned from slides and aren't the best quality, but hopefully you'll still enjoy it. Some of them are out of sequence as well; sorry 'bout that.
