Travels on Achates
June, 1990. Raroia, Tuamotus, French Polynesia. You find these guys wandering around on the outer reef flats on dark nights and incoming tides. A Coleman lantern works great for spotting them, then just step on them and pick 'em up. Sounds easy, doesn't it? I must confess, we haven't actually found that many, it's generally a bit more of an adventure than we want to undertake... |
